Antigua is a centrally located village in the centre of Fuerteventura, known for its well-preserved traditional architecture and rich agricultural history.

The historic centre of the village is dominated by the Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Antigua, an 18th century church that offers a picturesque view with its white bell tower and surrounding gardens.

Antigua is also home to the Museo del Queso Majorero, which sheds light on the history of cheese production on the island and showcases the region's famous goat's cheese.

Another highlight, right next to the museum, is the well-preserved Molino de Antigua windmill, which symbolises the village's rural heritage. Surrounded by a picturesque cactus garden, this place invites you to discover the traditional architecture and plant diversity of the island.

Every Saturday, the traditional market, the Mercado Artesanal de Antigua, takes place in Antigua, where visitors can discover local products, handicrafts and culinary specialities.

Antigua and its surroundings are ideal for immersing yourself in the original, rural Fuerteventura and experiencing the island's traditional way of life.
