Statue in honour of the "Cabra Majorera"
The monumental sculpture „Cabra al Viento“ near Pozo Negro is an impressive 8 metre high steel sculpture dedicated to the goat breed „cabra majorera“, which plays a central role in the agricultural culture of Fuerteventura.
This sculpture, created by local artist Juan Miguel Cubas, symbolises the islanders' deep connection to the goats and their importance for survival in this harsh environment.
It is located near the Granja Experimental, an agricultural research centre dedicated to breeding and researching this breed of goat.
In addition, the „Feria de Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca“ agricultural exhibition is held in the immediate vicinity of the statue every year, attracting numerous visitors and bringing the traditions and cultural significance of agriculture in the region to life.

By car
- Cabra al Viento is located in the east of the island, near Pozo Negro and can be reached via the FV-2.
- The statue is located directly on the main road, but there are no parking facilities there. It can be reached via a nearby side road.
- Car parking is available near the sculpture.
