The most beautiful day tours

Experiences

Experience Fuerteventura according to your preferences and discover the many facets of the island on extraordinary day trips. The following routes will take you to the most beautiful corners of the island and show you what makes Fuerteventura so special.

Northwest coast - La Oliva

In the morning:

At lunchtime:

Afternoon:

In the evening:

For the way to Playa de la Escalera, a vehicle with higher ground clearance is recommended, as the access road can be a little bumpy. Remember to bring sun protection and plenty of water, as there is little shade on the beaches.

The day begins in a café in El Cotillo - alternatively, you can stop off at one of the charming cafés in Lajares on the outward journey. There you can enjoy a breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere before starting your exploration tour.

The route then leads to the Faro de Tostón, the striking lighthouse on the coast of El Cotillo. From here, you can enjoy a sweeping view over the wild lagoons, whose turquoise-coloured water creates fascinating images of nature and offers ideal subjects for impressive photographs.

At lunchtime, the surrounding beaches, such as Playa de la Concha, Playa del Castillo or Playa de la Escalera, beckon. Each of them has its own unique charm - from sheltered bays to unspoilt stretches - and offers the best conditions for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing.

The day ends with dinner in a restaurant right by the sea. While local dishes are served, the sunset bathes the sky in warm colours and brings the day to an atmospheric close.

Inland - Betancuria

In the morning:

At lunchtime:

Afternoon:

In the evening:

Wear sturdy shoes and take plenty of water with you, as there are no supply options along the hiking route.

The historical side of Fuerteventura can be seen in Betancuria, the former capital of the island. The day begins with a visit to the Museo Arqueológico de Betancuria, which offers fascinating insights into the prehistoric history of the island and the way of life of its indigenous inhabitants.

A subsequent walk through the historic centre leads past picturesque alleyways and colonial buildings. The Iglesia de Santa María in particular characterises the townscape and tells of times gone by. The well-preserved architecture gives Betancuria a unique atmosphere that makes the town seem like a living history book.

At lunchtime, you can enjoy a meal in one of the town's special restaurants, which create an almost tropical experience with lush planting and thus provide a distinctive break.

In the afternoon, a hike through the Barranco de las Peñitas opens up views of one of the most beautiful gorges in Fuerteventura. Surrounded by imposing rock formations and wild nature, an impressive landscape experience unfolds that conveys both tranquillity and inspiration.

To round off the day, you can enjoy dinner in Betancuria itself or in one of the restaurants in the surrounding area, where the tranquillity and scenic charm create the perfect atmosphere for a harmonious end to the day.

North-east coast - La Oliva

In the morning:

At lunchtime:

Afternoon:

In the evening:

You can easily get your ticket for the ferry to Lobos Island at the harbour. There are numerous small beaches along the coastal promenade of Corralejo, which also offer a picturesque backdrop.

The day begins in Corralejo, a lively coastal town in the north of Fuerteventura. In one of the numerous cafés in the centre or directly on the promenade, you can watch the hustle and bustle of the town over breakfast.

At lunchtime, there are two options: An excursion to the small island of Lobos, just a short ferry ride away, opens up views of tranquil bays, a fascinating volcanic landscape and impressive views of the Atlantic. Alternatively, the Grandes Playas invite you to spend some relaxing hours - extensive sandy beaches with turquoise-coloured water that offer ideal conditions for swimming, sunbathing and strolling.

In the afternoon, it is worth making a detour to the nature park around the dunes of Corralejo. The vast sandy landscape in combination with the wind and sea creates a unique scenery. Those who prefer a quieter pace can stroll through the town centre and discover small shops, boutiques and local handicrafts.

At the end of the day, you can enjoy a drink in one of the beach bars while the sun slowly sinks into the horizon. In addition, the numerous restaurants along the promenade or in the old town offer a varied selection of fresh fish and Canarian and international specialities.
