Crater tour with sea view
The circular route to Calderón Hondo leads to one of the best-preserved volcanic craters in Fuerteventura. The hiking route is relatively short and easy, starting near the village of Lajares and stretching for around 5 kilometres.
The well-signposted hiking trail initially leads along a slightly ascending gravel track that gradually leads to the volcanic slopes of Calderón Hondo. The hike is suitable for all fitness levels and offers impressive views of the surrounding volcanic landscape, which stretches all the way to the coast, during the ascent.
Once at the top, a circular path around the crater rim offers a spectacular view into the 70-metre-deep crater and over the entire region, including the neighbouring volcanic chains.
On clear days, you can enjoy the wonderful view of the islands of Lobos and Lanzarote.
