La Lajita is a small, traditional Canarian fishing village on the south-east coast of Fuerteventura, known for its proximity to Oasis Park, a popular botanical garden and zoo.
In the freely accessible area of the park, the Mercado Agro-Artesanal de La Lajita is held every Sunday, offering local products, handicrafts and souvenirs and attracting both locals and visitors.
The village itself offers a quiet beach with black sand and stones as well as a small promenade along the coast, which is ideal for relaxing walks. The small church in the village centre and the traditional fish restaurants serving fresh fish and seafood give the village an authentic flair.
La Lajita is particularly attractive for families and nature lovers who want to experience the unspoilt and relaxed side of Fuerteventura. Nearby, the Mirador de La Lajita invites you to enjoy a marvellous view over the village and the coastal landscape.
