El Cotillo is a picturesque fishing village on the north-west coast of Fuerteventura, known for its diverse beaches, breathtaking sunsets and authentic Canarian flair.

The beaches of El Cotillo, such as Playa de la Concha and Playa de Marfolín, offer calm, turquoise-coloured waters and are ideal for swimming and relaxing. The town is also popular with beginner surfers, who appreciate the moderate waves on the beaches further south, such as Piedra Playa.

El Cotillo has retained its charm as a traditional fishing village, which is reflected in the cosy restaurants and bars that serve fresh seafood and local specialities. In addition to the beaches, the Castillo de El Tostón, a historic fort dating back to the 18th century, is another attraction that is well worth a visit.

El Cotillo celebrates traditional festivals every year, which attract many visitors. Of particular note is the festival of the Virgen del Buen Viaje, in which the patron saint of fishermen is honoured. The festivities include colourful processions and atmospheric celebrations.

The FEM (Fuerteventura en Música) also takes place on Playa de la Concha, where international artists perform every year. Visitors can enjoy live music in a beachfront setting, which gives the festival a very special flair.
