Resting place on the Atlantic
The Cementerio de Cofete is a remote maritime cemetery on the south-west coast of Fuerteventura, directly adjacent to the Playa de Cofete.
The simple design and dramatic surroundings give the place an almost mystical atmosphere. The few inhabitants of Cofetes found their final resting place here.
The cemetery was built at this location because the nearest cemetery was in Pájara and transporting the deceased there was extremely strenuous and time-consuming.

- Getting There
By car
- The Cementerio de Cofete is accessed from Morro Jable via a long, relatively well-maintained gravel road.
- It is around 20 kilometres from Morro Jable to Cofete and the journey takes around 50 minutes.
- Car parking is available near the beach.
