            Puertito de Lobos is a picturesque, small fishing village on the island of Lobos, north-east of Fuerteventura. This remote and idyllic settlement consists of a few traditional white houses and is the only partially inhabited place on the island.<\/p>

            The small harbour with its clear, turquoise lagoons is ideal for snorkelling and swimming and offers a magnificent view of the east coast of Fuerteventura.<\/p>

            In the vicinity of the nearby Playa de la Concha de Lobos, purple snails (Bolinus brandaris) have also been found, which were used by the ancient Phoenicians and Romans to produce the valuable purple dye, which contributes to the historical significance of the island.<\/p>

            A visit to the island is only possible by boat from Corralejo and an excursion can be ideally combined with a hike through the impressive volcanic landscape, a visit to the old Faro de Marti\u00f1o lighthouse and a climb to the La Caldera volcano.
